'Paraga’ sellers close shop in Lagos, as drunk slumps, dies

The dead body of an unidentified man was, Monday, discovered at Alaba, along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
The deceased, said to have been staggering home after leaving a drinking joint where local gin, popularly called paraga, is sold, reportedly fell and hit his head on the pavement.
An eyewitness said the dying man made attempts to call for help by repeatedly lifting his right hand, but that no one made any effort to assist him.

The incident, according to another eyewitness, created panic as local gin vendors hurriedly closed for the day for fear of being arrested in connection with the tragedy. Report said when police-men from Orile Division arrived the scene, the man was confirmed dead.
