Former Arsenal and Barcelona star Thierry Henry feels that Manchester United will be getting their hands on a "perfect" winger if they are able to complete the £22m of his ex-colleague Pedro Rodriguez as expected.
Writing a column for the Sun,
Henry described Pedro as "excellent", before explaining, "He was the
perfect team-mate for me at Barcelona because his understanding of wing
play was second to none."
The French World Cup and Champions League winner added, "No one was better at applying pressure from out wide. It is a position that is in his DNA - it’s been drilled into him by a lifetime at the Nou Camp and why I believe he will be such an important acquisition for United."
Henry also suggested that Pedro, who has been at Barcelona since moving from his native Tenerife as a 16-year-old in 2004, will be a much better fit for Louis van Gaal's preferred style of play than the recently departed Angel Di Maria, who was more of a free spirit.
"Pedro will be much more disciplined," Henry explained. "He was more than important to Barcelona's success, even though he spent much of last season as back-up for Messi, Neymar and Suarez.
