Last Saturday a citizen of Queensland’s Gold Coast was hospitalised with a suspected broken leg, and she says it is because her driver had run her over.
Sascha Pangallo says she is a daily user of the app and had no reason to suspect her ride at the weekend would be anything other than the norm.
Pangallo alleges the driver refused to enter her destination into his sat-nav, insisting she direct him, and then he began screaming at her for being on her phone.
The accused driver is said to have attempted to drag her from the car but when he realised how his behaviour appeared to witnesses, he swiftly jumped back into the driving seat before speeding off.
Unfortunately Miss Pangallo had not completely exited the vehicle as she collected her belongings. She is purported to have fallen to the ground before having her leg run over.
Uber has released a statement reaffirming their commitment to the safety of users, and it has been confirmed the driver in question had completed a full medical, driving, and criminal background check.
