Brazilian Ref Skips The Red Card And Pulls Out A Gun Instead

Choi, this ref has no chill,if you're an active soccer fan, you probably think that you've seen everything. Players and coaches are known to get pretty passionate during a match, especially when they don't think that the referee is making a good call.

(Do you remember when Brazilian soccer fans literally murdered the referee on-field?) With stories of bribes, broken legs and threats to the men in this profession, it's really no small wonder why one would be packing. Abi .....

During a lower league match in Brazil, referee Gabriel Murta became enraged when visiting team members of the Amantes de Bola and their manager began slapping and kicking him when he refused their demands to give a Brumadinho player a red card. Seeing red, Murta did not pull out a whistle, a yellow or a red card... instead, the ref retrieved his weapon and began waving it around.

A fellow official restrained Murta, who returned to the locker room and put away his gun. A Brazilian referees' association commissioner stated that Gabriel Murta will undergo a psychological assessment before being reinstated. He faces suspension or a lifetime ban.

Murta says that he feared for his life, and citing previous instances of referees being seriously harmed or killed in the past, the referees' association believe his self-defense claim and they are not intending on punishing him.

Do you think this ref should be banned for pulling out a gun, or do you believe his story?
