Gang Rape Survivor Raped Again By Same Accused

Five Indian men allegedly gang-raped a 20-year-old for the second time in three years - in retaliation for her refusal to drop charges stemming from the first attack, police said.

The student,a member of the "untouchable" caste had moved to a different city to escape her attackers, who were on the run after the first assault in 2013. Two of the men had been arrested and released on bail, but the other three were never even charged.

But Wednesday, she was tracked  down at her college. As soon as she spotted them, she knew it wouldn't end well.

"I got scared seeing them. They forcefully pushed me inside the car. They were the same men who had raped me earlier," she told police, according to The Telegraph.

The five attackers brutally raped her in a vehicle and left her unconscious on the side of the road with her clothing in tatters.

After the first attack, the victim and her family had turned down an out-of-court cash settlement offer.

"We want justice," her brother said.

"We were getting constant threats from the accused to reach a compromise outside the court, but we remained firm.

"That's why they have attacked her again," he said.

The accused rapists - at least three of whom are from upper caste families are on the run again, although The Indian Express reported that all five have been identified.
