Violent Cult Clash In Ondo Leaves 2 Dead And 20 Injured

A clash among youths left two people dead and 20 persons injured yesterday during a carnival in Kogbona community in Ondo State.

Security men were said to be helpless when the crisis broke out, leading to a free-for-all.
A source said two rival cult groups had earlier engaged in a fight before the carnival commenced. There was tension over the killing, as many youths protested.
One of the dead, who was identified as Afusat Ayodeji, was the alleged leader of a cult group in the town, while the identity of the other victim was unknown.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Enuowa, Mr Kunle Omisakin, a Chief Superintendent, confirmed the arrest of two persons.
He said the matter has been transferred to the headquarters of the state police command in Akure.
