The meeting was recorded for an episode of The Real which aired on Tuesday. Mrs. Obama was advocating and spreading information about “Better Make Room,” an education movement which is a segment of Reach Higher initiative.
Later on, Braxton revealed that the interview with the First Lady inspired her to go back to school to further her education.
In an Instagram post, she said:
““What an AMAZING day❣ God is excellent and not in a zillion years did I think I would be at the White House to interview ( one of my NEW favorite people @michelleobama) I always knew I would sing there, but not as journalist.”She then went ahead to reveal to the world that she was going back to school:
“Don’t miss the most AMAZING real EVER❣❣ oh and…. I’m going back to school y’all the one thing I learned on this trip is even if you are already successful….it’s NEVER to late for an education. You can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you. encourage yourself and one another the be the BEST you #tamartiansatthewhitehouse #thereal (shoutout to my cousin Jill and Jamal u guys) p.s. Why don’t you go back to school? #fafsa is free grant money for education and no matter where you are in your life u can apply.”“Better Make Room” is an initiative meant to inspire students to take charge of their lives. It has made it easier for those aged 14-19 to access information relating to tests, such as the SAT and ACT, as well as tips on how to make college applications, seek education funding among other relevant resources.
Braxton’s TV hosting jobs and reality TV roles have opened many doors for her. Her music career has been a boost to her general appeal and has seen her rise within the entertainment industry to lofty levels.
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have been on the forefront of improving education and opportunities for young Americans. The president has also initiated several programs aimed at ensuring that students of color stick in school and take control of their future.
